Arkansas - ISF Outdoors Backpacking

Whether you are an experienced backpacker or novice, this is going to be a great trip. Eagle Rock Loop offers the longest loop trail in Arkansas. A combination of the Little Missouri, the Athens-Big Fork and part of the Viles Branch Horse Trail, this trail travels through the southwestern portion of the Ouachita National Forest. Trail difficulty ranges from easy to most difficult. The trail has nine river/stream crossings and travels over nine mountains. We'll encounter classic Arkansas wilderness, complete with lush vegetation, rivers, waterfalls, and rocky ridges. We'll spend time enjoying God's creation, challenging each other, and looking ahead to what God has planned for each participant.

For more information about the trail, visit Eagle Rock Loop, Ouachita National Forest.

What to Expect

You can expect to be challenged physically and spiritually. While we do not plan to do the entire 26-mile-loop, we will hike more than half. We will have some gear for those needing a tent, sleeping bag or backpack, but it's first come first served. We'll leave early on the morning of the 6th and return late midday on the 9th. You'll need to provide all your own food and supplies during the trip. Our fees cover the gas, insurance and ISF expenses.
