Sao Marcos, Portugal - Basketball

Portugal has become one of the most visited countries in Europe. Our team will be about 30 miles outside of Lisbon in the fantastic city of Sintra. Here you can see the 500-year-old Palacio da Pena and walk through the castle walls of Castelos da Moors. We will partner with a missionary from Holland who uses basketball to reach the local players with the Gospel. Once or twice a week, he is on the court playing the game with them. He has asked us to send coaches and players to work with the athletes who will attend a four-day camp we will host. We will end the week with 3-on-3 tournament. Join us as we use basketball to share the love of Christ.

What to Expect

Our team will stay at a guest house just outside of Sintra. We will start every day with a morning devotion and a time of worship time. The camp will start on Monday and go through Thursday. We will structure the camp from 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. for instruction time, the play pickup games until 7 p.m. At the halfway point each day we will have one of our coaches share their testimony with the players. On Thursday we will give a Gospel message and invite anyone interested to ask Christ into their lives. On Friday and Saturday, we will host the 3-on-3 tournament. Our hope is to have two American teams competing in the tournament. We will give out medals and awards at the end of the tournament. This is an amazing opportunity to use your gifts in basketball to share your love for Jesus. If time permits, we will visit various parts of Lisbon and Sintra.
